The Turbans is an international musical collective bringing together exciting traditional near-eastern and eastern-European styles and original compositions to create a modern and energetic performance that mixes vibrant spontaneity and authenticity with instrumental and vocal excellence. This extraordinary project has grown into a progressive name on the London music scene, with band members gathering from all over the world (just like our rescue dogs!) to perform concerts and festivals around the UK, Turkey, India and Europe. The Dog Tales Festival will be their first performance in Canada, and we cannot think of a more perfect fit for a lively festival atmosphere.
Arco Violini is an ensemble of highly advanced students from Etobicoke Suzuki Music directed by Dr. Zachary Ebin. The group consists of students aged 8-14 who dedicate their summer to intensive practising, rehearsals, and performance. A key element of Arco is social consciousness and giving back to the community. Not only are these children extremely talented musicians, but they are huge animal lovers, and we could not be more thrilled to have them as a part of the Dog Tales Festival.
